Covid but make it fashion.
We are almost one year into the global Covid-19 lockdown. By now we can move past the "I can't believe this is happening" as the last 350+ days have shown us that YES, A PANDEMIC REALLY CAN HAPPEN.
There have been many upsides and downsides to this whole situation. For some it has been easier and for some harder. Whatever side of the spectrum we find ourselves in, we can all agree we just want this to be over.
One thing that has personally affected me is the missing creativity that came from getting dressed to leave the house. I still get dressed in the mornings but I can feel that the effort is 40% less as I know I will only be moving from my bedroom to our office at home.
Therefore, this past Saturday afternoon when I needed to go buy groceries, I thought to myself: Let's be a little "extra" today!
The result? Suede knee boots, a black pleated, pleather skirt, turquoise turtleneck, my most beloved second hand sweater (that I truly love and adore and feels me with happiness every time I wear it), cashmere scarf and my trusty hat.
Walking down the street felt fabulous. I missed the feeling of walking in something besides sneakers and rain boots. I missed the boost of oomph that is experienced when a great outfit is put together.
The one hour feeling "extra" excursion was enough to remind me: Covid, but make it fashion.
